Seeking interns for two state legislative campaigns in Washington's 43rd
Legislative District. The 43rd district includes UW and the U-District,
Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill, and the downtown core of Seattle. This
is a great opportunity to learn the inner workings of political campaigns,
network and develop connections in the local political arena, and to work
closely alongside legislators who shape Washington State's public policies.
Campaign interns will engage in the following activities:
1) Attend campaign coordination meetings
2) Help organize fundraising and outreach efforts
3) Assist with media communications (including social media outreach)
4) Provide administrative support
Interns will report directly to the campaign manager and will have frequent
opportunities to interact with the candidate. There will also be
opportunities to participate in engagement with local non-profits and other
policy-involved organizations.
The internship will begin ASAP and will last until September with the
possibility of continued involvement through to the November 4th election
depending on interest/performance. This is an unpaid position, but
accommodations can be made if there is an opportunity to fulfill academic
requirements or credits if applicable. Furthermore, interns will have the
opportunity to shape their experience based on their interests and learning
objectives.
