Position: Democratic congressional campaign is seeking part-time
summer interns. Positions are unpaid. Interns will
be part of a team working to re-elect a Member of Congress in the South Puget
Sound region. Interns will assist Field Organizers by helping to build and
train a volunteer team in an assigned region of the district.
Interns will gain
first-hand knowledge of the political process and grassroots candidate campaigns. Senior staff
will make themselves available to talk about campaign communications, finance, and field
organizing.
Start/End Date: Flexible. Minimum ten-week commitment is required.
Location: South Puget Sound Region (Washington State)
Intern Responsibilities
Include:
• Interns are expected to
work 15 hours per week minimum.
• Helping field organizers
meet strict volunteer recruitment and voter contact goals.
• Collaborating with
volunteer leadership to successfully plan canvasses, phone banks, voter registration events,
house parties, forums, and other campaign events as directed in assigned region.
• Helping conduct research
and plan events.
Intern Qualifications:
• No prior political or
campaign experience required.
• Dedication to empowering
volunteers to effect change in their community.
• Good academic standing
and strong verbal communication skills.
• Applicants should be
passionate about improving the world they live in through the political process.
