Ocean 102 has been designed to present an alternative view of basic oceanography. The course focuses on how the ocean drives our planet's climate system and how humans have altered marine and coastal environments.
Topics are divided into four units or Learning Modules. All course materials are presented online. An exam is administered at the end of each Module.
The scheduled meeting time for the class is Wednesdays from 1:30-2:20pm. The time is reserved for material review, quizzes and exams.
- Ocean 102 is intended for non-majors.
- There are no formal course requirements as prerequisites for Ocean 102.
- This course satisfies either a natural world (NW) requirement for students majoring in other fields or an Individuals & Society (I&S) requirement.
