Spring 2015 Academic Achievement Courses

THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON’S ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM is offering four different content areas for Spring Quarter 2015 titled, “Race, Class and Gender in Sports Media”, “Evidence and Controversy in Medicine”, “Immigration and Higher Education: What is an American?” and “Smart-Phone, Small-Planet? Identity and Community in the Digital Age”. These courses are great for freshmen, sophomore, and transfer students who are interested in improving their academic performance. Through these courses, students will be presented with interesting course material and will learn strategies to improve their note-taking, essay writing, reading, and study skills. As a part of the course, students will meet with a tutor-mentor three hours per week to work on class assignments and learn about university resources.  Section E will be reserved for English Language Learners (ELL) and recent immigrants.
