WHAT: A Twitter and Facebook live conversation with Reps. Chad Magendanz, Dick Muri and Melanie Stambaugh, House Republican ranking members on education issues
WHERE: https://twitter.com/hashtag/solutionswa and www.facebook/com/wahouserepublicans
WHEN: Civic Education Day - Tuesday, Feb. 17, 12:45-1:15 p.m.
WHY: To provide another avenue for the public to contact their state legislators
HOW: Use #solutionsWA to ask a question on Twitter or input comments on our Facebook comment thread the day of the event at www.facebook.com/wahouserepublicans. Questions will be retweeted and then answered as replies on Twitter, so we request participants leave 20 characters of space so we can directly respond with the participants' username. Questions answered on Facebook will reply to the specific comment, creating a thread under that comment.

"The Legislature will be doing a lot of work on education this year, in the areas of funding and reforms," said Magendanz, R-Issaquah. "What happens in Olympia will affect classrooms across the state, so it’s important for us to share our ideas and seek input wherever we can."

"As the youngest legislator in Washington, I'm committed to finding ways to engage more young people in our government, and I believe this is a great way to do that," said Stambaugh, R-Puyallup. "Education is the top priority of our state, and I'm excited to be part of this online discussion as we work to positively impact the future of our students."

"While there are certainly challenges in our education system, there are also great stories of success," said Muri, R-Steilacoom. “It would be great to hear from students, teachers and parents about their success stories as well as their thoughts on how we can make improvements."
