Celebrate and boogie in your gender with your queer and trans community! Campus and local organizations will also be tabling with activities. No dress code; don't be afraid to be bold and daring! Cosplay, drag, formal-wear, t-shirts, and more are all welcome.

Performance by special guest and renowned singer: MICHAEL CAGLE!! Ed McMahon called him: "A Powerful Vocalist who can hit notes so big and long, you could drive a truck on them."

ASUW Talk to Olympia about Higher Education, Nov. 20, 2014

The ASUW Office of Government Relations is looking for 5-7 students to travel to Olympia this Thursday 11/20 from 8 AM - 3 PM to discuss their experiences with student debt and financial aid literacy with members of the Washington State Senate Higher Education Committee. UW World Series - David Roussève / REALITY November 20-22

The UW World Series is committed to campus and community engagement. Our dance series this month: David Roussève / REALITY November 20-22 at 8:00 pm at Meany Hall. This work holds particular cultural relevance on top of being a spectacular exhibition of artistic expression. Ticket prices are  $10 student ticket to all UW World Series performances.

This particular dance company is scheduled for three evening performances, but the third and final one on Saturday, November 22 will be particularly special because of our post-show party with the artists. This party is specifically for UW students to be able to engage with the artists that they just watched perform. They'll get the chance to enjoy refreshments while chatting about the show they just saw with the artists that made it happen.

About the artists: Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts fellow, and Bessie-Award winning choreographer, David Roussève, juxtaposes the intimate romanticism of Nat King Cole standards with the rough-edged, hip-hop-inflected original music of d. Sabela Grimes to redefine the coming-of-age story for the electronic age.

Queer Sex Ed, October 30th from 4:30 to 6:00pm

Come and ask all the questions about sex and sexuality you’ve ever wanted to know! Learn what hetero-normative sex-ed never taught queer students in high school. We will have 6 panelists there sharing their experiences as well as a host of resources for queer students to utilize. Can't wait to see you there!

To Love & Ruckus: A night of sick & disabled performance by acclaimed activist & poet, Kay Ulanday Barrett.

Kay Barrett is a 2009 Campus Pride Hot List artist, 2013 Trans Justice Funding Project Panelist, and 2013 Trans 100 Honoree, Kay is a poet, performer, and educator, navigating life as a disabled pin@y-amerikan transgender queer in the U.S. with struggle, resistance, and laughter. K. has featured on colleges & stages globally including; Princeton University, UC Berkeley, NYU, Musee Pour Rire in Montreal, Brooklyn Museum, and The Chicago Historical Society. K’s bold work continues to excite and challenge audiences. K. has facilitated workshops, presented keynotes, and contributed to panels with various social justice communities. Honors include: Finalist for The Gwendolyn Brooks Open-Mic Award and contributions in Poor Magazine, Kicked Out Anthology, Windy City Queer: Dispatches from the Third Coast, Make/Shift, Filipino American Psychology, Asian Americans For Progress, Dapper Q, and Bitch Magazine. K. turns art into action and is dedicated to remixing recipes.

UW Leaders Program, applications due October 21st, 2014

​UW Leaders, an entity of the ASUW, is a leadership development program for undergraduates at the University of Washington. Open to first, second, and transfer third-year students, we strive to enrich students' husky experience by providing community, establishing relationships with experienced mentors and providing weekly workshops ranging from topics such as professional development, dealing with conflict, socially conscious leadership and diversity, and many others.

UW Leaders is a program for students from all backgrounds and areas of academic interest. We highly encourage you, or other students you interact with, to apply! The application deadline is Tuesday, October 21st at 11:59pm.
